She Wins Africa Program Expands to 1,000 Women Entrepreneurs She Wins Africa Program

A big boost for female founders is coming to parts of Africa below the Sahara by 2026, when 1,000 woman-run startups may get backing through a growing effort called She Wins Africa. Backed partly by IFC, part of the World Bank Group, along with funds from ASR Africa, this drive began small – just helping a hundred women build ventures. Early wins showed clearer paths to funding, guidance, wider trade chances, which led to plans getting much bigger fast. Because of those gains, room opened up for ten times more participants now aiming high. Across several African nations, more women are starting companies compared to most places worldwide; still, their slice of official startup money stays far too low. When overlooked groups gain real tools, economies shift – not just individuals. That quiet force behind households and local work might finally see proper fuel. Growth isn’t loud here – it spreads slowly through markets, farms, services shaped largely by women long on grit but short on access.

Women running businesses in farming technology, online shops, green energy ideas, or internet-based services take part in She Wins Africa – a sign of how African economies are moving beyond raw materials into smarter, tech-driven work. Instead of just lectures, the initiative gives custom lessons on managing companies, personal guidance from experienced mentors, while opening doors through organized meetings with big buyers and funders so female entrepreneurs can grow their small homegrown efforts into registered, expanding organizations. Early results from those who joined reveal not only more money coming in but also more jobs going to women plus greater spending back into local areas, which quietly proves ventures led by women often lift communities even as they earn profits.
