Tan Choon Hin is Appointed Head of ASEAN And Greater China by Singapore’s UOB

Tan Choon Hin has been named head of ASEAN and Greater China by Singapore’s United Overseas Bank, or UOB (UOBH.SI), beginning September 1, according to a statement released on Tuesday.
Tan, who is currently UOB’s deputy chief risk officer, will oversee the bank’s regional operations, including its branches in Hong Kong and Taiwan as well as its fully-owned subsidiaries in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and mainland China.
It aligns with UOB’s initiatives to boost regional connectivity and take advantage of the growing cross-border flows between ASEAN and Greater China.
Tan will also be in charge of the bank’s foreign direct investment (FDI) advising section, which links businesses to industry networks and ecosystem partners throughout ASEAN and Greater China to assist them take advantage of cross-border growth prospects.
With estimated investments of S$5.6 billion ($4.38 billion), its FDI consulting section has backed over 300 cross-border expansion proposals in the last six months.
Tan will answer to Wee Ee Cheong, the CEO of UOB.
